Service, Participation and Safety Terms
1. General Information
Cabalgatas San Pablo offers horseback riding tours along roads, trails, and natural surroundings in Salento, Quindío, Colombia. Horseback riding involves inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated, even when preventive safety measures are taken.
2. Age Requirements
For safety reasons and due to insurance coverage restrictions communicated by the operator, participation is limited to individuals between 8 and 70 years of age. No exceptions are permitted.
In Colombia, individuals reach the age of majority at 18. Participants aged 8 to 17 are considered minors and must have authorization from their father, mother, or legal guardian.
3. Registration and Accuracy of Information
All participants must register before the activity begins and provide accurate and complete information regarding their identity, age, emergency contact, and any other required details.
Incorrect or omitted information may make it more difficult to provide emergency assistance and complete any necessary procedures with the insurance company.
4. Health and Physical Fitness
Participants must disclose any relevant health conditions that may affect their safety, including recent injuries, mobility or balance difficulties, cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, recent surgeries, pregnancy, significant allergies, episodes of loss of consciousness, or any other relevant circumstances.
Cabalgatas San Pablo reserves the right to deny or postpone participation whenever there are reasonable safety concerns.
5. Foreseeable Risks
Potential risks include falls, impacts, cuts and scrapes, unexpected horse movements, animal reactions, tripping on uneven terrain, exposure to sunlight or rain, insect bites, fatigue, dehydration, and limited access for emergency vehicles.
6. Emergencies and Access
Some sections of the route may be far from roads and medical facilities. Emergency assistance or evacuation may take additional time and may require transportation to a location accessible by vehicle or assistance from emergency response services.
Cabalgatas San Pablo will make reasonable efforts to activate the available assistance procedures. Insurance coverage is subject to the terms of the applicable policy, its exclusions, and the insurance company’s assessment.
7. Insurance
Participants are subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance coverage contracted for the activity.
The insurance company determines whether coverage applies in accordance with the policy and the available documentation.
The existence of insurance coverage does not mean that every incident or expense is necessarily covered, particularly where a person deliberately disregards safety instructions and subsequently suffers an accident.
8. Identification
Each participant will receive an identification wristband or other identification marker, which must be worn throughout the ride and until the activity has ended.
9. Safety Instructions
Participants must follow the guide’s instructions, maintain a safe distance between horses, avoid shouting or sudden movements, remain with the group, refrain from changing the route or performing unauthorized maneuvers, use safety equipment correctly, and immediately report any fall, impact, injury, or discomfort.
If a participant does not understand an instruction, they must ask for clarification before proceeding.
10. Alcohol and Other Substances
Individuals showing signs of intoxication or appearing to be under the influence of substances that may impair their reflexes, balance, coordination, or decision-making abilities will not be permitted to participate.
Admission may be denied or participation may be suspended whenever there are reasonable safety concerns.
11. Reporting Incidents
Any fall, impact, injury, or physical discomfort must be reported to the guide immediately and before leaving the premises.
Prompt reporting helps document what happened and allows appropriate assistance procedures to be activated.
Failure to report an incident may make it more difficult to establish when and how it occurred. The insurance company will assess coverage based on the policy and available evidence. Failure to report an incident does not, by itself, automatically result in the loss of legal rights.
12. Refusal of Medical Assessment
If a medical assessment is recommended following an incident and the participant chooses to refuse it, they may be asked to document their decision using the separate Voluntary Refusal of Medical Assessment form.
Such a decision may make the subsequent documentation and assessment of the incident more difficult. Insurance coverage will be determined by the insurance company.
In the event of an emergency or when a participant is unable to make an informed decision, appropriate assistance procedures will be sought.
13. Minors
Participants aged 8 to 17 must obtain prior, express, and informed authorization from their father, mother, or legal guardian using the designated authorization form.
This authorization does not permit exceptions to the established age limits.
The responsible adult must provide accurate information and ensure that the minor understands the safety instructions.
14. Understanding These Terms
Participants must read these terms and request an explanation if they do not understand the language or any instruction.
Cabalgatas San Pablo may postpone or deny participation if it cannot reasonably ensure that the participant understands the essential safety instructions.
15. Admission and Suspension of Participation
Cabalgatas San Pablo reserves the right to deny admission, postpone departure, or suspend participation whenever there are reasonable grounds related to safety, animal welfare, age requirements, health conditions, intoxication, failure to follow instructions, or any other circumstance that may present a reasonable risk.
All such decisions will be made in accordance with applicable law.
16. Responsibility and Acknowledgment of Risks
Participants acknowledge the foreseeable risks associated with horseback riding and agree to provide truthful information, follow all safety instructions, and act responsibly and prudently.
These terms do not constitute a waiver of any rights granted by law, nor do they release Cabalgatas San Pablo from any responsibilities that may legally apply.
17. Reservations and Cancellations
Terms regarding payments, deposits, cancellations, refunds, rescheduling, and changes due to weather or safety conditions must be communicated before the booking is confirmed and will be subject to applicable law.
